Airport Transfer Times

by Fiona Bell | 22nd April 2024

Wondering which airport to fly into for your ski holiday?

The table below details the typical transfer times for each of our ski resorts, from all the major local airports.

Transfer times can very much vary depending on weather and traffic, and for shared transfers, always allow longer as there may be multiple drop offs.

We continue to operate on a Sunday changeover as this benefits our guests with quieter roads (plus it means you get a Saturday on the slopes, whichis usually one of the best days of the week as the pistes and lifts can be a lot quieter too!).

Ski Resort

Transfer from Geneva Airport

Transfer from Chambery Airport

Transfer from Grenoble Airport

Transfer from Lyon Airport

Morzine 1 hr 15 mins 1 hr 40 mins 2 hr 20 mins 2 hr 30 mins
La Tania 2 hr 15 mins 1 hr 20 mins 2 hrs 2 hr 20 mins
Le Praz 2 hr 10 mins 1 hr 15 mins 1 hr 55 mins 2 hr 15 mins
Plagne 1800 2 hr 30 mins 1 hr 30 mins 2 hr 15 mins 2 hr 40 mins

For all guests staying in Morzine, we highly recommend flying into Geneva, as it’s by far the shortest transfer time.

For anyone staying in the Tarentaise ski resorts (includes La Plagne, La Tania & Courchevel Le Praz), there’s a wider range of viable options when it comes to which airport to choose.  Chambery is closest, but there are fewer flights into Chambery compared to some of the bigger airports, and worth being aware that due to its location it is the most common airport in the region to see flights diverted due to weather.  Geneva airport remains the most popular airport thanks to the variety and frequency of flight options available, and subsequently the most options when it comes to booking airport transfers.

Always check out your options for your travel to resort (whether it be transfer, public transport or hire car) before you commit to booking your flights.  See the below links for our recommended transfer partners for each resort:
